Accessibility statement

We build websites for a living, so it would be poor form to make one that excludes people. This page sets out where dotcomdesign.online stands on accessibility and how to tell us when we have got something wrong.

The standard we aim for

This site targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA, which is also the benchmark set by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) for public-facing websites.

What we have done

• All content is reachable and operable by keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a skip link to the main content.
• Text and interface colours meet AA contrast ratios against their backgrounds.
• Headings follow a logical order so screen reader users can navigate by structure.
• Images carry descriptive alternative text; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
• Form fields have persistent visible labels rather than placeholder-only hints, and errors are announced in text.
• Animation and motion are switched off automatically for anyone whose system requests reduced motion.
• Layouts reflow without horizontal scrolling down to 320 pixels and support browser zoom to 200%.

Known limitations

The before-and-after comparison in the Work section is operated by a slider. It is fully keyboard accessible using the arrow keys, but the visual comparison it demonstrates is inherently sighted; the surrounding text explains the same point for anyone who cannot see it.
